Making Recycled Crayons -- November 2, 2011

Today's play date consisted in lots of fine motor skills and concentration.  The kids had a ball of a time tearing off the paper from the crayons and then breaking them into small pieces. The small pieces were placed in muffin pans which turned out to be a beautiful array of colors.  After we baked the crayons for 15 minutes, we let them cool down.  Below are a few pictures of our end product.

Happy Halloween -- Monday October 31, 2011

Happy Halloween!

Late Sunday night around ten, I was found in the kitchen baking cupcakes for Ethan's School Halloween Party.  Of course I tried to ice them perfectly, but I forgot to take a picture.  Monday morning, Ethan dressed up as Batman for school and I was busy in the kitchen making some yummy chili.  A friend of ours invited us over for dinner and trick or treating.  I volunteered to make 5 pounds of turkey chili for our friends.  It came out so scrumptious that I only had one small bowl for left overs and Greg took that for lunch the next day.

The kids (Ethan & his Friends) had so much fun running around the neighborhood ringing doorbells and knocking on doors.  I think all four kids tripped at one time.  They tripped over their costumes or their clumsy feet.  We ended up with lots sweet treats.  I am not as tempted to dig in but I know where the hidden stash is so that's not good.

October Madness -- October 26, 2011

I have to pat Ethan on the back as he tried to help me get ready to leave the house one morning.  He got dressed, brushed his teeth, put styling gel on his hair.  And he styled Dylan's hair too!  Below Dylan is sporting a mohawk.  Unfortunately the hair do didn't last, I tried to wash it out but there was so much gel that his hair was hard and flatten.
Pictured below is my little monster crawling around the floor.  My camera was too slow and I couldn't capture his facial reaction to his hat.  This was taken at a Halloween Party.

Friday Night Lights!

Last Friday, our family decided to go out and root for the Lake Worth Bullfrogs.  Both boys were so excited to see the bright lights, the cheer leaders and of course the band.  All this reminded me of my high school days.  We got to enjoy the game a little past half time.  Dylan wanted to crawl all over the stadium seats and he would only stop to clap with the cheerleaders when they chanted.  We indulged in nachos, popcorn, & sodas.  This is probably a typical Friday night for most but this was a real treat for my family.  The best part of this all was the beginning of the third quarter.  The fans are invited to walk on the field and line up along the tunnel and cheer the bull frogs on.  Ethan felt so big and proud being on the sidelines.

Happy 21st Birthday Alyssa!
Yep our beautiful girl is growing up.  We are so proud of what she has become.  She was surprised by her family, David's Family and close friends.  We had dinner at BooRays a tasty Cajun Place.  She had lots of gifts but the best gift I thought was a sweet necklace that the boys gave her.  It was a ring shaped pendent on a thin chain.  The ring was in graved with "A sister is a forever friend".  We couldn't stay to have a drink at the bar with her because we were past the boys bed time but we promise to take a rain check.

"May you live life fully, find happiness in the little things, follow all your dreams, always realize how truly beautiful you are and never forget  how much you're loved!

Halloween Party I -- October 21, 2011

Halloween Party Number 1.

We were fortunate to be invited to many Halloween Parties this year.  This past Friday I helped host the Halloween Party for the MOMs Club.  The kids had so much fun.  The kids were greeted with bag crafts at the table when they walked in and lots of orange balloons on the floor.  Then we had a wide variety lunch spread to go with some yummy desserts. We set up five games, a dance contest and best costume prizes.  Oh and best part for me was we got free tooth brushes that were sponsored by my dentist office.  Here are a couple of pictures of my kiddos.

Making Pumpkins with Friends

I haven't been a great blogger this year.  I have great intentions in posting once a week but that doesn't always happen.  We have tons of stuff on our plates these days.  At least two days a week we are at the ball fields practicing or playing a game.  I absolutely love being on the ball field and took note that the next 15 - 20 years we will be busy watching the boys play ball.

We have also been cheering on the TEXAS RANGERS as they conquer the playoffs.  It's annoying yet thrilling to see all three boys cheering, giving high gives, and yelling, (which only accelerates when the Rangers are getting closer to the 9th inning).

My Homemade Pumpkin!
Just this past week Dylan starting saying "Momma."  It's even more exciting to see him say Momma when we prompt him.  We were also excited to see Dylan finally clap his hands.  He has reached a couple of milestones this week and makes me realize and a little sad that he is growing up fast.  I really need to get on the ball and plan his first Birthday Party.  It needs to be super special for my my little Sugar Bear.

On October 11th, we were invited to decorate Pumpkins with Friends. Ethan is learning to be self-sufficient in making his crafts without mommy's help.  It's hard for me to guide or give Ethan's directions and stand next to him while he makes his craft.  Ethan has really made me proud these days in taking the lead and getting things done.  For instance glueing his ideas on the pumpkin.  (other days he'll make himself useful and grab a snack off the shelf or from the fridge, or getting dressed which really helps me out when I'm busy with Dylan.

I love you Ethan Bo-Bo Head!

Dylan, Daddy & Dishes - September 21, 2011

I am very fortunate that we share the household chores.  I think that Greg is an excellent role model for the boys in showing them that Boys too can do inside chores.  I just didn't think that we'd be starting our littlest one this early.  I walked in and saw that Dylan was Daddy's little helper.  He just looks so happy banging that paper towel roll on the dishes.  But I have a feeling that Dylan took the roll out of the trash can.  Yep he is stretching and is now able to reach in and grab trash!  I'm also very blessed that my little Pumpkin is always this happy!!!

Aaron's 2nd Birthday & My 33rd - September 14 - 15, 2011

Aaron's 2nd Birthday was celebrated at Grandma Oliver's House.  He had so much fun jumping in the bounce house, playing with his cousins and Ethan.  Grandma Oliver made a wonderful Cars birthday cake.

It's amazing how fast time flies.  This beautiful boy is growing up so fast.  It may seem odd that Uncle Ethan and Uncle Dylan are similar in age but they sure do enjoying playing together.  He is very much loved by Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw Gonzales.  (that is what he calls us)

We also celebrated my 33rd birthday the same week.  The girls came over, Greg cooked us dinner and Ethan picked out my birthday cake.  Ethan picked out a carrot cake for me this year.  He ate all the orange frosted carrots and left me the cake (which is my favorite part).  I don't think I look 33 but lately my body tells me different.

"Rock and Roll All Nite" by Kiss - August 9, 2011

My little pirate has decided to become a punk rocker.  Ethan has always been fascinated with guitars, singing, and music in general.  One evening we had plans to take a trip to Braum's for a sweet treat.  Ethan was told to get ready (put his shoes on) and pick up his toys.  But instead he decided he wanted to rock out!  Ethan changed his attire and chose a pair of faded blue jeans (that included a hole in the knee) and a sleeveless blue skull t-shirt.  Needless to say, we didn't make it out the door to Braum's because Ethan wanted to Rock - n - Roll all nite instead of listening to Mama!!!

LEGO LAND - July 20, 2011

Vanessa and her family came into town and we took a trip to Grapevine, Texas.  We took the boys to Lego Land not knowing that we could buy tickets online.  There was a 2 hour wait time to purchase tickets then another 15 minutes to get in the door.  Honestly, the price of the ticket was a little outrageous for me but both Ethan and Dylan enjoyed themselves.  I'll just know to look for a coupon for our next visit.  Lego Land was quite an attraction and with the time we had, we got to see the Lego Land Factory, Ethan, Uncle Nando and Ayden rode the Kingdom Quest Ride, we enjoyed seeing DFW Mini Land built in legos, Ethan & Dylan played in Duplo Village for at least an hour and finally we let Ethan play in the 3 story Lego City Play Zone.  After the two hour of play time Ethan and Dylan fell fast asleep as I drove out of the parking lot and into the DFW traffic!

$5 Tent - September 9, 2011

The other day I thought I would start Christmas shopping.  While looking for great deals, I found this tent that was 90% on clearance.  I thought this was such a cool deal and something both my boys would enjoy.  At the time I was going to save it for Christmas but my little Nosey Rosey found the box and we pulled it out tonight.  Dad questioned on where we would store this but put it together anyway and the tent lasted about 2 hours until the rod bent and almost broke off.  Here are some of the boys excitement when the tent was pitched in the living room.

I took this picture with the intentions I would save the picture upright but didn't and so it's upside down.  I thought it was still cute to see Dylan crawl through the tunnel for the first time.

Ethan's Easter Hut 2011

Ethan and Mommy like to get crafty somedays.  This was our attempt in making an Easter Hut.  I have to admit I didn't follow the directions precisely therefore our frosting consistency was really runny.  But Ethan did a great job using the materials and tools that he had.  I think he actually used all the candy without putting any in his mouth!

Back online

It's been months since we posted any pictures or updates of the kids.  I hope to be posting lots of pictures that sum up our Spring and Summer of 2011.

Here is a more recent photo of the boys:

Laughing out Loud

I can't believe how fast time is flying!  Dylan is 4 1/2 months and is learning how to laugh out loud.  While daddy was being silly, we caught both boys in action.

My Beautiful Boys

I haven't made much effort in taking pictures of my boys but here are some of my favorite moments of them.  Ethan absolutely loves his baby brother.  It seems like every day he asks if Dylan is getting bigger.  Ethan can't wait for Dylan to grow up and learn how to walk, run and play.  These days you'll find Ethan singing to Dylan and dancing around him to make Dylan smile.  Ethan has been such a big help in assisting us in catering to Dylan.  Dylan also loves the attention that brother gives him.  Dylan seems so solemn during the day while Ethan is at PreSchool.  Then once Ethan walks in the door, Dylan loves to stare at Ethan, while Ethan talks about his day.  Right now it may seem like they are opposites.  Dylan seems passive and laid back (unless he is hungry), Ethan will be my silly boy that turns into a class clown.  Either way both boys seem to favor mommy and her ways :0)
